Dear Broker

I hope you are keeping well. Things are looking up and at Aviva we’re looking forward to brighter days ahead now that businesses are reopening, and economic activity is improving. Below includes an update on Personal Lines and how we want to support you our brokers and your customers.

Home Insurance Cover for People Working from Home

As more of your customers are Working from Home these days, we’ve included cover for Home Office Equipment as standard with all our Home Insurance policies, all standard desktop equipment (laptops, PCs, printers etc.) are automatically covered under the contents section of the policy. We’ve also included Help in a Home Emergency Cover as standard with unlimited annual call outs within our Aviva Home Choice Policy.

Helpful Guides and Research Findings

With 66% of homeowners now working or studying from home, this brings new opportunities, challenges, and risks. We’ve carried out some research into this shift to see how it affects your customers. You can access our latest Home Insurance research on https://www.aviva.ie/group/media-centre/homeowners-new-research/.

We have also added some useful Risk Management Guides, including Cyber Security and Homeworking to the Aviva Broker Website to keep your customers safe when working from home. Click here for details.

Extra Support for Aviva Driving School Pupils

We want to help more of your customers get on the road as soon as possible. Due to the ongoing restrictions on driving lessons, we’ve extended our Aviva Driving School pupils’ free accompanied driver insurance cover to 31st December 2021 from the date that the existing free cover expires (subject to terms and conditions*), on request by the policyholder. This should allow pupils enough extra time to complete their driving lessons and practice. You can find the full details on the Aviva Broker website Driving School section..

Great Value Van Insurance

Van drivers will be pleased to hear that our minimum premium on commercial motor, own goods business policies, is €399 inclusive of Government Levy and Insurance Compensation Fund since the 1st of April 2021 for both new and existing customers.

CICA Legislation

As you are aware, additional CICA legislation comes into effect from 1 September 2021 and, therefore, the September renewals that you receive in early July will reflect these changes. We will be sending you a comprehensive guide to support you with the process changes required.

Proudly supporting Pride Month

June is Pride Month and, as proud sponsors of Aviva Stadium, the IRFU, the FAI Men’s National Football Team and the Women’s National Team, we’ve recently launched our #LaceUpWithPride Campaign. We’ve teamed up with Intersport Elverys to give people the chance to buy rainbow laces for €4 in selected stores and online since Friday 4th June 2021, with all profits going to LGBTI+ charity, BeLonG To Youth Services. You’ll find all the details here: Aviva calls on Irish Sporting Community to #LaceUpWithPride this June | Aviva Broker

As part of this initiative, we will also make a €10 donation to BeLonG To Youth Services for every new Aviva Home Insurance policy taken out throughout the month of June. The #LaceUpWithPride initiative is part of the wider Pride Month 2021 plans led by Aviva’s active Pride Community.
