At Aviva we have demonstrated our support for you and your customers during the Covid-19 crisis. This has included a range of forbearance measures for commercial and personal lines customers outlined in this communication. Our teams have continued to put in place measures to help your customers protect themselves and safeguard their businesses during these challenging times.
As a result of the extension to the public health measures announced by the Government on April 10th, we can confirm we are now extending some of the measures already outlined to you.
We are also increasing our support to the HSE workers and to our charity and community partners.
We continue to engage with industry and other relevant stakeholders where appropriate to progress workable solutions for our customers.

Updated Initiatives to support you and your customers
We are pleased to extend the period of flexibility for commercial renewals up to and including 31st May 2020.
Premium instalments:
We will continue to work with customers on a case by case basis. Where customers are unable to pay their monthly instalment, we are extending our facility for a further 30-day period, up to and including the 15th May 2020.
Commercial Premises Closure and Temporary Closure:
Existing cover continues to apply in respect of Material Damage / Business Interruption up to and including 30th of April 2020, without the need to notify us that the Insured Premises is closed and temporarily unoccupied due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
We confirm that we are extending this period up to and including 30th of June 2020. Customers should continue to advise us if the premises are unoccupied at their earliest opportunity and should endeavour, where practical and safe, to inspect their premises on a weekly basis and address any issues of concern
Commercial Policy cancellation:
We continue to honour existing policy terms and conditions. Where a policy is cancelled, we will allow for rebates of premiums where such a rebate is due to the customer.
Minimum & Deposit Policy Endorsement:
For policies with Minimum and Deposit clauses, we will review these on a case by case basis and, where appropriate, will not insist on minimum and deposit premiums where exposures reduce during the crisis period. We will keep this under review as the situation develops.
Home working – Home Insurance:
We continue to provide working from home cover – including all home business equipment as standard up to contents sum insured, to customers when they work from home.
Healthcare Workers:
To support Health Service Executive (HSE) and healthcare workers during the crisis, we have implemented a package of measures aimed at helping to keep HSE workers on the road for the duration of the Covid-19 crisis. The new supports provide enhanced home and motor cover, including fully protected no claims discount in the event of an accident.
In addition, to the support measures already outlined, we have collaborated with the Society of the Irish Motor Industry's (SIMI's) member garages whereby all qualified medical professionals who have returned to Ireland to work with the Health Service Executive (HSE) during the outbreak of Covid-19 can avail of a complimentary garage car and free insurance cover.
We continue to publicly demonstrate our support for front line HSE and healthcare workers by lighting up the Aviva Stadium in the HSE colours (red and green) throughout April. In addition, we launched our Covid-19 video last week which highlights the need to support current Government measures and our Healthcare workers using the line @There is no strength without unity. The video was made using images of Aviva Stadium and Ireland rugby and soccer games and the script is written and narrated by the poet, James Smith. I attach a link below for you to view the video
We have increased our financial support for our charity and community partners in their important work during the crisis, at a time when their normal source of donations and income have reduced significantly.
In conclusion, I hope that you and your customers are aware of and understanding the full range of measures that we have implemented to support you at this time. Our priority remains the safety and welfare of colleagues, customers, suppliers and the wider community during this crisis. We are committed to providing you with a level of support that meets your needs during this challenging time for your business and we will continue to update you on any relevant measures and matters going forward.
With best wishes,
